I attended Horsheads High School where I graduated in 2010
with an Advanced Regents Diploma. During my last year of high school I
participated in the New Visions Education and Human Services Program through
GST Boces. Through this program I took time out of my day to work with
teachers in our community. I attended SUNY Cortland for my undergraduate degree. I graduated in the fall of 2014 with a
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education and a
concentration in Social Sciences. I completed my student teaching in New York
City which was a wonderful learning experience for me on a personal and
educational level. I participated in many clubs and activities while at
Cortland including serving as the President of the Urban Education Club, the
Secretary of Kappa Delta Pi, a member of the Education Club, as well as
participating in the Bridges for Kids Program and Intermural Sports including
Broomball. I have been a substitute teacher within the district since
2012 and on a full time basis last year.
This is my first year teaching and I couldn't be happier to be spending
it in 4th grade! In addition to teaching, I am also working on my Master's
Degree of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages through
SUNY Cortland. |
