- They usually rhyme
- They are usually sang to British and American children
- They are used to make a moral point or have fun
- Therefore, most British and American people know them
- They are referenced to in many tv programs, songs, texts, movies, etc.
The Sound --ite:- In English the sound --ite can be written two ways:
- the word ending --ite like in the word bite
- or the word ending --ight like in the word tonight
- This is a common spelling error and does not follow the phonetic rules so you will have to memorize it!
