Caterpillar

~Christina Rossetti~

Brown and furry

Caterpillar in a hurry,

Take your walk

To the shady leaf, or stalk,

Or what not,

Which may be the chosen spot.

No toad spy you,

Hovering bird of prey pass by you;

Spin and die,

To live again a butterfly.

Remember while reading:

*Read this poem out-loud to yourself

*Pay attention to punctuation while reading

*Look for similar word endings to indicate that words rhyme:
Ex:   Bat and Cat = rhyme
Bat and Bath = DO NOT  rhyme ( th does not make
             the same sound as t)

*Some words have the same sound but NOT the same spelling!
Ex:  Through and Screw = rhyme (-ough makes the same
            sound as -ew
