Project #3: Web Quest Project
(Group Project)
Annotation for Project #3
For this integrated science and technology project we were split into
groups of five. I worked with Tracy, Adriane, Evan and Mike.
Each group had to choose a biome that interested the whole group
and do research on that biome. My group chose the Coral Reefs of
Florida. There are eight sections to our Web Quest and these
sections are: a title page, a
letter of introduction, a friends and family page, our home, our biome, a
problem in our biome, what can be done about it, and a write to us page. My
group split the tasks up and began researching on the Internet to find
information on our biome.
My task was to create the Interdiction page. Here I needed
to introduce the members of my group. I found a picture of three
scuba divers with one girl and two boys in it. I say the girl was
Adriane, one boy was Evan and the other was Mike. Me and Tracy
were taking the pictures. In
order for all of our pages to look the same, we developed a basic
outline of what the page would look like with different links to each
section. The first day we worked on this project we used Nvu to
create a table, then added the page files from one another's flash
drives onto our own flash drive and published our Web Quest using
WS_FTP. After we all finished or designated pages we meet in the
computer lab to share our pages again. Then we linked and
published our web quest. I think this project would be
really useful for both teachers and children in a classroom. Now
I have the knowledge to make a web quest to use it to my benefit.
