Reading Reflection #2

Teacher Standards:

I had never had so much integrating technology in my higher education until SUNY cortland.  I think it is very important to do so.   For this happen, the teachers must be fully educated on the computer and the programs they chose to use.  Most important know the basics what the programs are, how they work and how they can be used.   The thing is when I came to SUNY cortland I had only used a comupter for Microsoft Word and AIM.  There are many other options out there.  A few that I have been introduced to is PowerPoint, WebCT data bases that teachers can use, Taskstream, NVU, Publisher and more.  There is know limit for the tecnology that teachers can use, teach and asign.  These are just a few examples of the popular programs teachers use because they are usually the only ones that they are aware of.   Teachers can begin integrating more uses of technology into higher education.

Student Standards:

This standard is very important for students.  It says that students will use technology to advance their learning, productivity and their creativity.  Students can use a number of differemt technology programs for presentations, projets, and other assignments.  It is important that children learn how to use computers and programs early on.  I personally feel almost feel like time was taken for me.  I don't even remember here about computers when I was an elementary student.  They were just so new and have come so far.  For example look at Michal he could stand up in front of a college classroom and each us anything at all about computers and their programs.  I just wish I had those oppertunities.  I know in my house we didn't have a computer until Christmas 1997.   Our world has becoming a more tecnically savy in a very short time.  Just look there are people now a days that don't even have to go to work because they can do it right from home!
