The Biome of Micronesia
Micronesia is a group of islands that have a relatively identical climate.  The island of Chuuk (Truk) has a climate similar to that of a typical Tropical Oceanic Biome. The temperature and the humidity vary little for month to month.  All of the islands receive a moderate amount of heavy rainfall, and the daily temperature range is pretty small, changing only about 10°F during the entire day. The amount of rainfall that each island receives depends on it's altitude and if it is exposed to any of the dominant winds, either the Northeast Trade winds or the Southeast Monsoon winds. The islands above 5°N lattitude (which is most of them and includes Chuuk) experience Tropic Storms (which are typhoon of the South China Sea). These storms produce very strong winds and heavy rains and do a considerable amount of damage. The season for these storms is from July-November.

So far the weather here has been great.  It is such a change from the temperate Northeast United States.  The days are wonderful with lots of sunshine. Thank god for the sea breeze because without it we would be in for some very humid days.  The nights are more humid than the days are, so that makes sleeping a little tougher.  So far we all love this place it is like paradise.
