*Project 5*
The intention of this project was to teach
the class that
there are many different ways to use Microsoft Word. Before this
project I only
thought of using Microsoft Word when I needed to write a paper. Now I
know that
I can use it to create just about anything; worksheets, handouts, flash
cards,
tests and name tags.
During
this project we learned how to use word art, boarders
and charts. For the first part of the project we used word art to
create our
names with description words. I found this activity to be very fun and
I think
children would too. When you make a project personal, it always catches
the student’s
attention. While creating my name I learned how to change the font,
color, style
and shape of the word art. After we finished our name, we had to create
a
handout. I decided to make mine about “beach day” at school. This was
an
informative parent handout. We learned how to create interesting
boarders with Microsoft
Word. The last part of the project was creating a type of trading card.
I made
mine into flash cards to help students with their counting skills. We
simple
took a chart and made it into the cards, very simple task with an
extremely
effective outcome.
<>I know
that I was make good use of these features when I have
my own classroom. I have used Microsoft Word many times but I had no
idea that
you could do so much with the program. I enjoy learning about
technology because
it is such a time saver for teachers. It is so easy to save items and
then come
back to them and revise it and use it again.
