*Project 9*

I have learned a lot from this course this semester. When I first signed up for the course I really had no idea what it was going to be about and I was a little bit nervous because I am not completely computer savvy. Before this class I knew how to use Microsoft Word, use Google or Ask Jeeves to search the internet and that was about it. Now that this class is over I can do so much more.

When I said that I knew how to use Microsoft Word, what I meant was that I could type up and paper and print it out. I did not know that there are so many other useful tools in Microsoft Word.

I know that I will use the technological skills I have learned from this class in the future. I have already used a number of the programs for other classes this semester. I had to create a unit plan for Social Studies and I added on a word search from Puzzle Maker for an “if time” activity. I created flash cards in Microsoft Word for the unit plan as well. I used Microsoft Publisher to create a newsletter for my Literacy class, which turned out much better than I ever would have been able to create without learning how to use Publisher.

I will constantly be using these types of programs in my future classroom. Technology is a growing tool that will help make teaching easier. I think it also makes a classroom more organized and information much easier to access. I think that students will benefit greatly from their teachers being able to use these programs in the classroom. It is important for teachers to learn how to use these programs because children today are constantly involved with technology for fun and for school.

Not only will I use the information I have learned from this class in my future classroom, but I will also use it for personal use. I think I that will be using Photo Story for many future gifts. I also will use Publisher because it so versatile. I know knowing that I can create calendars, letters, flyers, and every card you can think of all on one program.

I think that working in groups during this course was challenging at times but I also learned a lot from others. When you work alone you only have your ideas, but when you work with a group of people you are given multiple ideas to choose from. The information that others bring to conversations is sometimes remarkable. I have learned so much from many of the people in this class.
