Writing Activity #2: Writing Process
Directions:
You will write a paragraph about the writing prompt provided below. Your paragraph must have a topic sentence, three supporting details, and a conclusion sentence. This means your paragraph must have at least five (5) sentences (you may have more if you would like). Write your paragraph in the box provided below.

What is a topic sentence?
A topic sentence is usually the first sentence in a paragraph that tells the reader what the paragraph is going to be about. It is the most important sentence in a paragraph, because it contains the main idea of the paragraph. The main idea will tell you what the rest of the sentences (details) in a paragraph are about.

What is a conclusion sentence?
The conclusion sentence is the last sentence in a paragraph. It restates the main idea of the paragraph by using different words.
