What is an adjective?
Adjectives are words that
nouns. We use adjectives to make our writing more interesting and to give a mental picture of what something looks like or acts like.
How should we use adjectives?
Adjectives have to
describe
a noun
Adjectives can come before a noun, after a noun, or by themselves
When they come by themselves we have to use
context clues
to figure out what they are describing!
Numbers
are adjectives too!
Some examples of adjectives are: big, little, tall, happy, dry, blue, two
