Now that we know what rhyming words are and we have done some examples together, you will practice using rhyming words on your own. Look at the lists of words below, select the word that does not rhyme with the others.

1. fly, my, by, guy, sky, snake
Answer: snake


2. cricket, ticket, thicket, chirping
Answer: chirping


3. fish, dish, swish, stuck, wish
Answer: stuck


4. muck, duck, frog, luck, cluck, buck, truck




5. moose, juice, spruce, swampy, goose, loose, use




6. skunk, trunk, dunk, marsh, trunk, clunk, junk




7. snail, trail, mail, jail, nail, muck 

snail trail mail jail nail muck 



8.  dragonfly, snake, lake, cake, make, bake

dragonfly snake lake cake make bake



Now take out your journal, and write 5 sentences. Each sentence must contain at least 2 rhyming words. The sentences you write should make sense. You may use rhyming words from the story our use your own!
