Aspendos boasts the best-preserved Roman theater in Turkey, and one of the best in the world.

Once called Belkis, Aspendos was founded by the Hititis, but it was Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-180 AD) who ordered its great theater to be built.

Still used for performances today, the theater really allows you to imagine what it was like to attend a dramatic performance in Roman times.






                          DAMLATAS CAVE



The cave is located inside the borders of Alanya and is at the coast. It is 3 km away from the city center. It covers an area of total 200 m. The cave is 15 meters high and has a marvelous vision formed by numerous stalactite and stalagmites. With the carbon dioxide gas, high humidity, low temperature and radioactive atmosphere, the cave is extremely beneficial for asthmatic patients. Therefore the asthmatic patients form the most dense visitor groups. The formation period of the stalactite and stalagmites inside the cave are estimated to be between BC 20.000-15.000 years.

                       TEMPLE OF APOLLOapollo

The ruins of the Apollo Temple are located in or near to the harbor of Side, which is located in the province of Antalya. The temple ruins of the temple dedicated to Apollo, god of light, art and beauty. This Temple is bearing Peripteros Style and also it is a monument belonging to 2nd century AD. It was made during the Roman Civilization that is in front of the sea viewing the historical trade point harbor.
The temple of Apollo is also surrounded by other important ruins that date back to 7th century B.C. .Side was one of the main cities of the ancient region known as Pamphylia that later became Antalya.
