My Relfection

For this project, I reflected back on all the projects and work I have completed this semester. To finalize my ePortfolio, I had to make sure that each link was working correctly and each project was completed. When I was reflecting on the work that I have completed this semester I realized  technology really is an exciting way of learning and doing things.

I have definately grown to become much more comfortable working with technology throughout this semester. I believe that this class has taught me many ways to incorporate technology into the classroom everyday and not just through a technology class but through any of main subject classes (including science, social studies and math). Each project that we completed that were integrated with the other block classes could be used for any subject area. For example, the webquest could be on Ellis Island and the Virtual Field Trip could be used to teach on Madagascar. The skills I have learned by taking this class will definately help me in the future. Technology is becoming a larger part of our world everyday and younger children are using the computer at younger ages than ever before. Many children are far advanced in their technology skills than I am today and that is why I believe that this class is also important (to try and keep up with the children). When I have my own classroom someday, I plan on integrating many different activities into their learning enviroment. Every project that we completed in this class I plan on one day using it in my classroom. Reflecting back really makes me realize how much I have learned from this class in three ways. The first way just being learning new computer skills that I never knew before and how to operate different programs (for example Microsoft Publisher). The second way being that I learned a lot about how to incorporate technology into the everyday classroom. Finally, I learned so much information about the topics I had to complete my projects on (for example, I learned so much on Madagascar by making a web quest inquiry on the area). This is great to realize because I know that my students will also learn someday by completing projects like these.

I definately have experienced many struggles and frustrations throughout this course, but with the help of my classmates and teacher, I was able to complete all the projects. I feel that working in groups helped me because if there was ever an issue with the technology not working correctly, I did not get as frustrated as I did when I was working alone. The projects that I felt I learned the most from was the Virtual Field Trip by using Microsoft Powerpoint, creating the book with Microsoft Publisher and creating the web quest inquiry. I also really enjoyed creating the elementary website because it allowed you and your group members to really become creative and have fun practicing designing websites. By reflecting back on all the projects we completed for this class, I realized that each project was created for a purpose. This course will be very beneficial and helpful to me in the future.
