I felt that Standard III Teaching, Learning, and the Curriculum was an important category.  As a teacher I feel that the use of technology is very important to use in a classroom as well as for a teachers personal use.  Using technology to teach is another way to do a lesson in a classroom.  As a teacher you should always show material in different ways and technology is an important one.  Technology is something students use in their daily lives and that they can relate to. 

            One way teachers can apply this to their teaching is by using PowerPoint to teach a lesson.  This is a good way to show new information and can be interesting, especially when teachers put in pictures and effects.  Also PowerPoint is easy to teach to students so they can present information this way themselves.  Another form of technology a teacher can use is the internet.  The internet is filled with information to show to students.  For example YouTube is a great was to show video clips on topics you are teaching, along with other educational website that put up video clips or recordings.  I feel it is very easy to incorporate technology in almost every subjects and it is important for teacher to do so.

NETS for Students 

     I feel Category 1 of the National Educational Technology Standards is the most important for students to learn.  Technology is a huge part of the world and our society today.  Many students already know more about technology than their parents.  Students use technology to communicate with their friends on the computer through AIM and myspace.  Teaching technology in a classroom allows students to have more knowledge on technology that they can use in their daily lives in school.  Most people need technology in their jobs as well therefore learning technology in school will help them later when they have careers.  More and more of the world today is based on technology.  Students need to have the basic knowledge to interact with the world around them and contribute to their community. 

          As a teacher I would integrate technology into many subjects.  One example is to have students create a PowerPoint.  This is a good way and organized way to present information.  Students need to learn how to speak in front of people and using PowerPoint can help to do that.  Instead of having each student write a paper about someone in history I would have them do a PowerPoint presentation on the person.  Another activity I would do would be to create a blog.  I would use a blog website that is made for classrooms.  Students would read a book and then post information about it.  Other students would respond and ask questions about the book.
