Let's Look Back Through The
Story...
- Before
we read the story Once There Was a Bull...(Frog)by Rick Walton we
reviewed the defintion of a compound word, and thought of different
examples of words that could be put together to make a new word. As we
read through the story there were many different compound words that I
am sure you heard.
There were context
clues that the author used that told you when compound words
were
coming up throughout the story. Let's take
look back through the story and identify some of the compound words we
heard, and why they are compound words.

the story looking for his hop froggy looked everywhere, he looked

- Behind a dog...(house)
- Under a hedge...(hog)
Froggy also had a cow...(boy)
throw him high in the sky where he landed in a field of
