Recipe #1: Arroz con frijoles (rice and beans)


The only ingredients are rice and beans.  What makes this recipe taste really good are the spices that you combine with the ingredients.

What you will need:
  1. 2 cups rice
  2. 1 can black or red beans
  3. Sazon goya (spice found in the Goya aisle)
  4. Adobo (also found in Goya aisle)
  5. 1/4 onion, chopped
  6. 2 cloves garlic, chopped

Directions
  1. Begin by cooking the rice.  Add a packet of the sazon goya with the rice.
  2. Pour out the can of beans into a pot.  Do not drain the beans!  Add a can of water and cook on medium heat.
  3. After about 5 minutes, add in the chopped onion and garlic. Also, shake out a small amount of adobo onto the beans.
  4. Let the beans cook for about twenty minutes or so.
  5. Combine the rice and the beans by stirring all of the ingredients together in a large pot.
  6. If you want, you can also add any hot sauce that you particularly like.
  7. That's it! Enjoy! Rice and beans is a great side dish for any meal.  Even with eggs for breakfast!
