"The way of St. James"

"The way of St. James" is a pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia (northwestern Spain).  Tradition says that Saint James is buried here.  It was one of the most important pilgrimage routes during midieval times.  Some of the earliest records indicate that the route has been traveled since around the 8th century!

The pilgrimage starts in parts of France and end in Galicia, at the Cathedral.
