Grammatical Feature: Adjectives



Part 1: Guided Grammar Activity
 
Adjectives are used to help describe a noun. In editorials, adjectives are mostly used before the noun.

Directions: Fill in the blanks with the correct word from the drop down box. You will use all of the words and you will only use each word once.

1. Some people think that Facebook creates a safety risk for children because they could  be exposed to   adult talk and pictures, and other R-rated content.

2. Even though Facebook has age requirements, kids are using the site who shouldn't be.

3. Kids under thirteen may not be mature enough to handle a Facebook account because there may be potentially strangers on the web.

4. There should be rules when it comes to people signing up for a Facebook account.

5. While there are disadvantages of using Facebook, with the right parental controls, it can be a experience for children.

6. Some young children that have Facebook provide their information for everyone to see on their wall posts and profile. This makes it easy for sexual predators to find them and track them down.

7. After a public outcry, Facebook is responding to the concerns by changing some of its privacy policies.



Part 2: Less Guided Grammar Activity
Directions: The following sentences are examples with adjectives you may find in an editorial. The phrases in Column 1 are the beginning of a sentence, the words in Column 2 are adjectives, and the phrases in Column 3 are the ending of a sentence. Unscramble and match up the beginning, adjective, and end to make a complete sentence (with an adjective before a noun) that can be understood. Please write the complete sentences in the boxes below. *Hint: There is no one correct answer, the sentence just needs to be understood.
