escape turned him into a very popular magician. In other magic
acts, he excaped from a box set underwater and from being buried alive
in the ground. These acts are why Houdini is called an "escape

as the "Queen of Magic," she toured with her husband in the late 1800s.
After his death, she continued to do magic shows on her own. Her
illusion acts were famous for having large, beautifully decorated
stages. |
