Bullfighting,
or La Corrida de Toros,
is a very important aspect of the Spanish culture. Bullfighting
is a tradition of Spain, Portugal, southern France, and several Latin
American countries. It can often be linked to ancient Rome, where
many man vs. animal events took place. Bullfighting spread
from Spain to the Central and South American colonies, and to France in
the 19th
century as well. The Spanish introduced the practice of
bullfighting on foot around 1726. Francisco Romero, from
Andalucía, Spain, is seen to be one of the most famous bullfighters of his time.

Many spectators today feel that bullfighting is a blood sport,
while others feel that it is a fine art. Would you choose to
attend a bullfight? Why or why not?
