:: About Me ::
My name is Allison Dunn and I am 21 years old. I am a senior at SUNY
Cortland and am enrolled in the Childhood Education program with a
concentration in social sciences. While looking at other projects, I
came across someone's teaching philosophy, which I decided to adopt as
my own. “In a completely rational society, the best of us would aspire to be teachers
and the rest of us would have to settle for something less, because passing
civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest honor
and the highest responsibility anyone could have!”
I am from New Hartofrd, NY, which is a small suburb
outside of Utica. I live with my parents and my younger brother, Jeff,
who is 19 years old and goes to SUNY Oswego. I have a dog, Biscotti,
who is not always nice, but we love him just the same.
I have always been pretty active. In high school I
danced, played lacrosee, participated in musicals and joined almost
every club imaginable. Since then, my schedule has become much lighter
as the work load became much heavier. I still like to go out and do
things spontaniously.
I have a great set of friends at school and an even
better set at home. My friends from home all go to school far apart
from one another, but when we get back from breaks, it seems like we
never left.
I hope to take away the knowledge necessary to teach
students the way my parents, friend, family, and teachers have taught
me in order to change their lives.
