Project #8:
Reflections on the Learning Journey of Technology
This
course has been very challenging for me as my technological skills are
not very advanced. Before this class I was only comfortable with
using the internet, email, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
Through taking this class I feel more comfortable with not only
these programs but other programs as well.
Learning
how to work with NVU to create websites. I quickly learned how to
navigate through the program, how to add graphics, and how to link
pages. Through using trial and error I managed to create various
pages with graphics and links.
During
this course I also learned how to use Google Sites to create my own
websites. I created an Elementary School Site, a projects site,
and a WebQuest through Google Sites. I found Google Sites to be
easy to grasp and very easy to navigate. I learned quickly about
adding graphics and links and also how to change the templates for my
background.
I created
my own photo story through the Photo Story 3 program which was a lot of
fun. I enjoyed putting in my own pictures and picking out music
to play in the background. I also enjoyed viewing my classmates'
photo story projects.
I also
created a brochure through Microsoft Publisher. This program
especially will be useful in my future career. Being able to
create brochures and flyers is extremely important as an educator as
they are wonderful tools to use for communication.
Through
everything I have learned in this course I am proud of how far I have
come. I feel that I can use everything I have learned in this
course in my own classroom one day. Using websites, PowerPoints,
Microsoft Publisher, and Photo Story will be great tools to add into my
curriculum. These programs will enhance my communication with my
students and their parents/guardians.
