Mini Project #3

Student will be able to:

  1. form the imperfect tense of all -ar, -er, and -ir regular verbs.
  2. form the imperfect tense of the three irregular imperfect verbs ser, ir and ver.
  3. use the imperfect and the preterite tense correctly in their writing.
  4. define vocabulary taken from an authentic text.

The lesson was created to help practice the imperfect tense vs. the preterite tense for my Spanish Level II class. They are learning how to form the imperfect tense of all ar, er, and ir verbs. They have three irregular verbs to learn (ser, ir and ver) as well. I have taken an authentic text in the form of a short story fable and used it to demonstrate uses of the imperfect tense vs. the preterite.

Next, teacher will read the story aloud, followed by a silent reading by the students by him/herselves, lastly students will group together in partners to read the story again.

3 Interpretation: This section will be done in class by teacher lead questioning.
4 Application: student will create their own fable in the past tense using both the imperfect and the preterite tenses.
5 Extension: Student will then analyze their own creations and compare them to the authentic text. We will be sharing the stories amongst each other in class.
