21st Century Literacy is the need to keep updated with the modern technological world in which we live- and to incorporate those items into the classroom. This includes the four main ELA skills- reading, writing, listening and speaking- used through the modern practices in today’s ever advancing society.
As a future educator, I believe that these skills are very important to the growth of each individual student. By using new technological practices in the classroom it gives students more of a chance to connect to the material and to enhance their critical learning skills. Modern practices of teaching, as well as the traditional practices, can be linked together to create an astounding learning environment for every type of student that passes through our classrooms.
