Thallus esorediate. Apothecia pale beige , reddish brown, or dark brown. Spores fusiform 1-4 celled 12.5-26 x 3-5 microns.This small ascomycetous dot lichen is found growing on rocks and some smooth barked trees. It is rare in both the climax and secondary succession forest areas. This crustose lichen was collected from a white ash (Fraxinus americana).
