Primary squamules persistant. Usually with entire or crenate margins. Sometimes sorediate. Unbranched podetia ( Sometimes with narrow cups)Surface mostly ecorticate with farinose soredia. Base has no soredia. Apothecia rare at tips of podetia. Thallus with fumarprotocetraric acid ( P+ red). Commonly found on rotting logs, thin soil covering rocks, and at the bases of trees. This specimen was collected from the base of an apple tree (Malus domestica) in the secondary succession forest area.
