Primary squamules persistant or disappearing. Podetia with squamules covering majority of surface with apothecia at the tips. Thallus esorediate but granulose. UV+ bright blue.Widely found on soil, rotting logs, and over rocks with thin soil. This species was discovered much more often in the climax forest area throughout the duration of our survey. The specimen pictured above was collected from the base of an eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) in the climax forest area.
