Flavoparmelia caperata

 

Yellow-green large-lobed foliose lichen. upper surface wrinkled with scattered or confluent, diffuse, laminal, granular soredia. Lower surface black with narrow brown margin. Apothecia rare. Cortex with usnic acid (KC+ yellowish), medulla with protocetraric acid ( P+ red).More common in secondary succession than climax however this foliose lichen will be found almost anywhere that receives high light. Commonly growing in large formations on the edge area of a forest or in any other area that receives high light.
