Lecanora thysanophora

 

Thallus green crustose, sterile lacking reproductive structures. White fungal hyphae visible at thallus margins appearing threadlike.Relatively common in both forest types surveyed, L. thysanophora was more common in the secondary succession area. Often found on smooth barked trees, this specimen was collected from white ash (Fraxinus americana), which is not a smoothed bark tree, however it is the most common in the secondary succession forest area.
