Thallus consisting of singular ascocarp arising out of Trichaptum biforme. Spores 1-septate and dark. This pinhead lichen will be found growing on the small bracket fungus, Trichaptum biforme, arising from the upper surface of the fungus appearing as many tiny black pinhead-like structures.This small ascomycetous pinhead lichen is found only on the lignicolous polypore Trichaptum biforme. Common in both the secondary succession and climax forest areas. This specimen was collected from a downed tree in the climax forest.
