I have
learned a lot from taking the course EDU 143.
I was not the best with computers, but this class has really improved my
confidence working with computers. When
I first started this class the only programs I knew how to use were Microsoft Word and Publisher. In this class I
have learned to use programs like Nvu for webpage building, WS_FTP for webpage
publishing, and Photo story 3 for windows to create a digital slide show. I have also learned more about Microsoft Word, now I can do so much
more than just writing, I can now create borders and backgrounds. However I know that I have not learned all
there is about computers and I am looking forward to learning more. After taking this course I am much more
confident with the technology that is available and am more aware about how to
incorporate technology into the classroom.
This
course has taught me not only how to use technology but also that it can be
used along with many other resources to teach and learn. The programs that we used could easily be
used in a classroom, such as web quests, puzzles, and photo story. These programs could be created and used by
the students themselves enhancing the learning process.
Learning
how to use a new program can be a long and difficult process, this course has
taught me that. However once you become
familiar with the program it does not appear as challenging. I know that I still have a lot to learn about
every program that we used in this class and now that I have a basic knowledge
of programs like, Microsoft Word and Publisher, Nvu, WS_FTP, and Photo story
3, I will continue to explore the tools offered by each. Even though at time I was annoyed with some
programs I had fun creating my own photo story.
It was the project I enjoyed the most because I got a chance to be
creative.
