My Reflection
I really
enjoyed having this class as part of my Block I classes. I feel I knew
a lot about technology and computers before I came to this course.
However I found there was so much more to know! I had the opportunity
to help my classmates with difficulties they had in creating this
e-portfolio.
I think it is very important to use technology in the classroom. This
generation is becoming more advanced with computers and it is important
that new teachers learn almost everything there is to know! Technology
can be used in every subject. I liked how Science and Technology was
integrated with our Web-Quest Assignment. My group and I had the chance
to create a Web-Quest based on our Unit Plan on Endangered Animals in
Africa. I think if I was to teach our unit plan in a classroom it will
be very helpful to show my students this web-quest. It is a very
organized way to gather and present information.
Reflecting back on creating this e-portfolio I realized how much I
learned about new programs. Nvu was the program I used to create this
web page. After I created all my pages I used the program Ws_FTP to
publish the portfolio on the internet. I didn't realize until now how
much time it takes to create different links and to get everything
working correctly.
I definitely had some struggles while creating my e-portfolio. One of
the struggles i had was creating my Web-Quest. In our group we divided
each page up to do individually. My pages were the Games and Literature
pages. After I completed my pages, I had to go to my group member's
websites and copy and paste the information they had on their
individual pages to mine. This part was very frustrating for me because
everytime I copied their information and pasted it into Nvu the format
of the text changed.
My favorite project in this e-portfolio was creating my Digital Story.
My friends mean the world to me so it was fun to create a cute
slideshow of some memories we have shared these past few years at
college.
I know this course will be very beneficial to me in the future when I become a teacher.
Thanks for visiting my website! :)
