Famous Graphic Designers

Whilst most designers slave away with little recognition, other than our clients cheque or the occasional award, there are some designers that have gained international fame for their work. Are we bitter and twisted? Well... possibly. But to show that we harbour no hard feelings, we focus on some of them here. In all seriousness, few of these designers are celebrities, in the normal sense of the word - certainly outside of the design community (with the possible exception of Jonathan Ives - Apple's designer of the iPod and the recent iMacs). And most of these designers have become famous for the influence of their work, rather than as the result of any kind of personality cult. Indeed, some of them are important enough to have had an influence on the very meaning and interpretation of the history of design itself.
