Halloween Pumpkin Decorating Class 2-2 participated in this online project involving 32 classes from the U.S and Canada. Thanksgiving Food Drive MindsEye Monster Exchange
Student groups and classrooms work collaboratively on a technology based language arts project. Each classroom is split into groups who then design original monster pictures. The original monster design is then described using learned writing skills. The partnered classes then exchange their descriptions via email and the WWW. These students are then challenged to use reading comprehension skills to read the descriptions and translate them into a monster picture. The true challenge involves getting a redrawn picture as close to the original as possible without looking at the original and only using the exchanged written description. This project is in process, with more to come.
