Project # 4

Project #4 required us to use Microsoft word to create two different documents. I created a word art acrostic and an educational handout.  For the word art acrostic; I used the word art tool to write my name vertically down the page and characteristics about myself, horizontally, that starts with each letter in my name.  In this project I learned how to use word art in Microsoft word.  I also had a chance to be creative using the different styles and colors for each of the words. This is a great way to facilitate learning in a classroom, as a future teacher. A teacher can have the students make their own acrostic using their names and writing characteristics about themselves. The teacher can also have the students make a acrostic using their spelling words they are learning about.

To make the educational handout, I also used Microsoft Word. I first created a border on my page. To make a border, I went to page layout on the tool bar. I then went to the icon labeled page boarders and chose the border that I wished to use on my handout. Also located in the page layout, is the icon for watermarks. I clicked on this icon to create the background picture. Here you can also change the watermarks of the chosen background picture. This is a great tool for  teachers to use in their classroom. The teacher can create a handout to write letters home to the children's parents. Also the teacher can make a variety of different handouts for the students to write on during lessons or activities.
