General Mills Continues to be Recognized for Excellence in Diversity

Company Named to Black Enterprise’s 40 Best Companies for Diversity List

BLACK ENTERPRISE magazine today announced General Mills as a company on the 40 Best Companies for Diversity list, appearing in the July 2008 issue.

“General Mills is honored to be named by Black Enterprise magazine as one of the 40 Best Companies for Diversity,” said Kelly Baker, General Mills vice president of Diversity. “Our success at creating an inclusive workplace directly impacts our ability to compete globally. Diversity drives better innovation, insights and products.”

To select the top 40, Black Enterprise magazine surveyed CEOs and diversity executives of the top-grossing 1,000 publicly traded companies and the 50 leading global companies with significant U.S. operations. The survey focused on participation of African-Americans and other ethnic minority groups in four key areas: supplier diversity, senior management, board involvement and employee base.

General Mills has recently been honored with several other corporate diversity awards including: Top 50 Companies for Diversity, DiversityInc; Top Companies for Executive Women, National Association for Female Executives; and Best Companies for Multicultural Women, Working Mother magazine.
