OBJECTIVES |
Plants
come in many shapes and sizes. Most plants have the same
parts. Each of these parts has a function, or a job,
to keep the plant healthy. The roots hold the plant in the soil. The roots also take in water and nutrients from the soil. The stem holds the plant up. Water and nutrients flow through the stem to other parts of the plant. The leaves make food for the plant. Leaves also come in many different sizes, shapes, and colors. Many plants also have flowers. The flowers make seeds, so that more plants can grow. Click here to listen as you read the passage. |
