My name is Kerri Loomis, soon to be Kerri
Petrillose; no I'm not getting married I am merely taking
my mothers maiden name. I am from Dryden, a small town in central New
York, near Ithaca. I love where I am from and the amazing environment I
grew up in. I am currently a senior here at SUNY Cortland. I love
it here , I've been a R.A. here for three years, getting involved and
helping students is a passion of mine. No surprise I am an early
childhood/ childhood education major with a concentration in
social sciences. I would love to get a MAT in adolescence social
studies education. One can see that I love all grade levels and
want to see where my life takes me, before a choice is made about
the direction I am taking. I feel a stronger connection with social
studies presently but that could change.
One thin g do know is that no
matter where life takes me there will be snow. I am as passionate
about snowboarding as I am about teaching. I have been snowboarding for
the better part of my life now and see no change in sight. Beyond
going to school I also work as a snowboard instructor, that
way I'm combining both of my passions into one. Presently I am
level II AASI instructor (American Association of Snowboard
Instructors), there are only three levels, and I am continually
training to be both a better snowboarder, instructor, educator and
learner.
