The Amazon Rainforest covers over a billion acresin Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia and the Eastern Andean region of Ecuador and Peru. More than half of the world's estimated 10 million species of plants, animals and insects live in the tropical rainforests.

The animals in the Amazon Rainforest  are in serious danger. Many of the species are experiencing severe population decreases and are becoming endangered. The Golden Lion Tamarins, The  Hyacinth Macaws, The Jaguars and The Pioson Dart Frogs are some species which are facing extinction.  Factors which increase the numbers of the endangered animals in the Amazon are habitat loss, pollution, introduced species, global warming and poaching.
