Project
Six
Annotation
For this project, we
worked in a group of four to create a calendar and newsletter using
Microsoft Publisher 2003 and then uploaded both documents to our
homepages using WSFTP. This was my first experience using
Microsoft Publisher and I learned many new components from it that will
be of great benefit to my future as an educator. I also
enjoyed working in groups to do these two projects because we were able
to use teamwork and I learned from my partner. Myself and Liz
worked on the newsletter together. We decided on the idea of our
newsletter which focused on the month of Decemeber. It included
three main points and listed important dates and events. We
researched about winter safety, interesting facts about winter
activities and facts about hibernation. The purpose of the
newsletter would be to educate the parents, families and children of
our school or classroom. This was an important project to learn
how to complete because in the future as an educator I will need to be
able to design and create a newsletter for my class. Once our projects
were complete we saved the other group memebers' projects to our
individual desktops and transferred the files onto our USB storage
devices.
Because this project was quite time consuming it
would have been helpful to do some parts of the project outside of
class using publisher but I did not have the program on my
computer. I did do some research for it outside of class, though,
which was helpful.
This project is helpful because I will use this
program in the future as a teacher. Newsletters and calendars are
vital because they let parents of the students know important
dates throughout the month and also a newsletter can be something new
that the parents and the children can learn together.
