Although I am constantly on computers, I do not know very much about them.  Like most college students, I do the basics on the computer; write papers, surf the internet, and talk to people via AIM.  For our first task, we were able to design our own homepage.  I thought this was very fun because I was able to put up pictures that I chose and make everything unique.  This helped me become more familiar with Nvu.  I was able to explore different techniques and how to actually make a page into a website.  
    The main point of this class was the importance of technology in the classroom.  Students are learning different and with the use of the resources technology offers to us, we can help our children gather a better understanding of concepts.  Through the annotations we had to do, I was able to realize how I could use this different projects in the classroom.  Teachers must also be able to explain the importance of the different programs to their students, I also learned this through the annotations we had to write.  
    I was very frustrated when working on the google sites.  I felt that the things I wanted to upload onto kept being distorted.  Also, it does not allow you to have unique pages in the website.  Although I felt that Nvu was much better, I was still happy to learn google sites.  
    For one of my projects, I made a brochure that I actually used.  I felt a great amount of pride when I mailed out my brochure to over 75 parents.  It was a brochure based on raising money for Cystic Fibrosis.  This really helped me see that I can use everything I learn in this course.  
    My favorite project was the digital story telling project.  I liked this because I was able to put up pictures that meant something to me and add music to it.  I am giving my digital story telling project as a Christmas present!
    Throughout this course, I realize that technology is very important to incorporate in the classroom.  Students can not only learn a great deal from the technology, but they can explore and use their imagination in projects.
