For this project, I applied my previous knowledge of making a Power Point Project into revising one I completed for my EDU 374 class, Teaching Elementary Science. This attached Power Point is about three Research and Reflection questions about the sun and its benefits and dangers. To make a Power Point, you go to Microsoft PowerPoint in Microsoft Office. Once opened, you can choose a template design and its color. You can add new slides, simply by clicking on "New Slides" in the upper right corner of the screen. Then you add text to each slide, changing the font and color as you please. Under the "insert" tool, you can insert clip art or saved pictures, and sounds. These can be placed in the slides by simply right clicking your mouse and choosing "copy" and then "paste" where desired. You can save it and come back to it whenever you please. Power Points are great for showing notes or presenting information in a clear manner, to a few people on the computer screen, or to many when projected on an overhead projector. They are also simple enough for students to do. For example, our EDU 374, with the prior knowledge of doing a Power Point, went to Barry Elementary School to teach 6th graders how to make thier own Power Point. They found that it wasn't that difficult, and that they were soon successful. Link to Power Point Project |
