"Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theater."-Gail Godwin

Our first project of EDU 314-604 was to create and publish a website.  Using Netscape Composer, I created links off of my first initial
page, thus making five more content pages consisting of “About Me”, “Projects”, “Reading Assignments”, “Resume”, and “Teacher Education
Links”.  I also added SUNY Cortland’s webpage to my links.  Once I organized the links horizontally and made sure each of them worked properly, I began to color coordinate pages and make the content look presentable.  I searched for quotes and photographs relating to my topics on the Internet and inserted them similarly on each page so that there was consistency among the pages.

I decided to use Shel Silverstein’s well-known poem, “Where the Sidewalk Ends” because it seems to sum up my belief that children are our future and that their innocence and optimism can change our sometimes futile attitudes about the world.  For the “About Me” page, I kept the information simple and pertinent to my field of study to make it seem more professional.  The projects page links to finished and upcoming EDU 314-604 projects, and the reading assignments page links to my discussions and opinions of EDU 314-604’s assigned readings.  My resume, updated recently, lists and explains my education and experience thus far and the teacher education links are informative and inspirational links that I use and read on a regular basis for ideas and reflection.
