| Part I Compare/Contrast Essay |

a comparison/contrast paper involves comapring and contrasting two
subjects. A compariosn shows how two things are alike. A contrast
shows how two things are different. Use the list of signal words hanging in the room as a reference. (as well as, also, too, similarly... however, but, on the other hand, etc.) Once you have selected your partner and okayed it with me, I would like you to brainstorm everything you know about each of your fish. Once you have done this, put your findings into chart form. To do this, make three columns, label two of them with your fish and the third "shared", for the characteristics that both have in common. You should be able to come up with atleast 5 simalarities and 5 differences. Using the chart that you have made, write your essay together. We have done several compare/contrast essays together, so this is your chance to show me what you've learned. The essay has to be typed, one copy per pair. If you have any questions do not wait until the last moment to ask for assistance. Be sure to be checking the Due Dates so that you can pace yourself. |
