In project five I worked with Shayna, Alisa and Chelsie, and we put together a webquest on the topic of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. In the beginning of our webquest, we give background information so the students gain a general understanding of what the boycott was truly about and how it began. The question we ask to them is if there is any way that the boycott could have been prevented, and how did it change things for African Americans in the United States. We also make links to the current presidental win recently by African American Barrak Obama. This webquest was really interesting to make and is something I could totally see using with older students. Students must be independent and demonstrate both their computer and general social studies knowledge all in one in order to complete this task.
