Project One

The purpose of this first project was to help us to better understand website design and the Nvu Program. We learned how to construct our own webpage, as well as some of the cool things you could do to customize that page, such as changing the font, background and color, as well as adding photos. Nvu was something I definitely had no experience with, and was something different and fun to learn about, since most of my computer classes in high school had mostly focused on Microsoft, and not on web page development. Filezilla also made things very quick and easy, and I was amazed at how simple it is to actually create your own page, it always seems far more complicated then it actually is.

I learned alot from this experience, and this is something that would definitely be neat to share with my older students. I really liked how easy it was to use. Like I said previously, my main concern with web design was that is was not broken down into simple enough steps for people who aren't necessarily strong with computers. I really felt that this was a great tool to help me begin to understand the world of web design and I look forward to our future classroom discussions and activities on the subject.
