Monthly Calendar Click Image to View NETS for Teachers: Teachers use technology to support learner-centered strategies that address the diverse needs of students. Reflection: Using Microsoft Publisher for making calendars is very convenient and easy to use. I have used a calendar in the past for keeping parents informed of the weekly activities. A monthly calendar can be created to list events, units and special days that the parents should be aware of. I enjoy adding graphics and my own personalization to the calendars. Newsletter Click Image to View NETS for Teachers: Teachers use technology to support learner-centered strategies that address the diverse needs of students. Reflection: Creating a classroom newsletter can be helpful in updating the parents about the current or recent happenings in the classroom. In the past I have used newsletters to give parents an idea of what the upcoming month will include or about the past month. Students could use Microsoft Publisher to create newsletters as a class project. Having students create a newsletter for their parents could be another great lesson and technology project. Envelope Mail Merge Click Image to View NETS for Teachers: Teachers use technology to support learner-centered strategies that address the diverse needs of students. Reflection: The postcard or envelope tool would be great for sending home information for students and parents. A postcard could be sent at the beginning of the year to welcome the students and invite them to preview the classroom and meet the teacher. Creating envelopes and cards could also be done by students to invite other students, parents, etc. to a special event in the classroom. |
