Reflection on the Journey of Learning aobut Technology...
For this project we are suppose to reflect on the journey we took throughout this course. I believe that I learned so much from taking this class. I never really considered myself to be a computer person but I feel as though I have become so much more aware of the programs that the computer has to offer. I feel that I am now capable of using the NUVU program as well as photostory and webpublisher. I also learned how to use the puzzlemaker on Microsoft which was really cool because now I can make my own puzzles for the my classroom.
Something that I never thought I would be able to do was to put a photostory on the the computer. I was shocked to actually see how easy it was to do. When it came time for us to do the webquest, I was a little confused because I was not sure what we needed to include and what we didn't. However, once I began working on the project with my group members, it seemed to flow a lot smoother. The webquest was a very useful task to do because that is something that I can use when I get a classroom of my own.
In doing all of these projects, I did not really find myself to get very frustrated. The deadlines for each one were spaced out enough so that you would have enough time to finish each project thoroughly. My peers sitting next to me were all very willing to help in case there was something that I could not figure out. A key idea to doing well in this class was to make sure that you pay attention when the teacher is explaining the material because if you don't, you will get lost very easily. The syllabus that is given at the begining of the semester is very thorough and explains everything that you will be doing in the class. It is also posted electronically on the computer so that you can access the links that are given as well. These links are put there to help give further instruction on the tasks that you will be doing through out the class.
I feel as though I have learned a ton of information in this course. It is all very useful for me as a future educator because it will help enhance my teaching techniques in the classroom. I can not wait to begin teaching and put some of these skills to use.
