My Tica Family

When I applied to study abroad through SUNY Cortland, I knew that I would be staying with a host family. I was so afraid. What if I didn't like them? Or even worse what if I didn't like the food? I learned a lot when I got to Costa Rica. As soon as I met my host mother she tried to explain to me a little her country. Costa Ricans refer to themselves as "Ticos". So I now had a "Tica Mom", a "Tica Brother" and a  "Tica Sister- in- law".

On the Left: My Tica Mom and I on my 22nd birthday. On the Right: (Top Row first) My Tica brother, the cleaning lady, My Tica Mom, Me and My Tica Sister- in- law. For my birthday Moraima belly danced and we had a party!

A big birthday BESO!
