Veritas University
San Jose, Costa Rica

I chose to study abroad because I needed to finish my Spanish concentration in order to receive my undergraduate degree in Childhood Education. While in Costa Rica I took a Latin American Culture class that was only taught in Spanish. It allowed me to continue to practice my Spanish with my peers and my teacher. I loved learning in another language!

With my class we got to watch a few Latin American films and even got to go to a coffee farm, Doka Estate. I almost started to start drinking coffee after visiting.

My favorite experience at Universidad Veritas, was the "Crash Party". This event was put together by the faculty of our school to help the study abroad students get to know the Costa Rican students ("Ticos"). There was a DJ playing music, teachers were serving soda, and food, and belly dancers came to perform. My friends and I really got the chance to relax and bond on such a great night! I even saw a Cortland Professor there.

<-------My closest friends were from Illinois, Mississippi, North Carolina, and New Jersey.

The belly dancers were beautiful and talented! ----------->
